COWPIE AND COVID

Cowpie Music festival will be presented in accordance with all applicable laws and the guidance issued by our health care professionals at the Michigan Department of Health and the Center of Disease Control and Prevention. We are taking enhanced health and safety measures at Cowpie 2022 to make the event safe and successful. We will be implementing optional Pod Areas, which will be marked in the venue and will give attendees the ability to guarantee social distancing while in the venue. We will also be working with Artists to implement their personal safety policies during their performances.

Our policies will reflect the current policies adopted by these federal, state, and local agencies. As these rules may change, we may be forced to change our policies as well which may include but may not be limited to; changes to capacity, attendance procedures and requirements, such as proof of vaccination and/or a negative test, and other protective measures such as requiring attendees to wear face coverings. Details of any necessary measures will be communicated as early as possible and will be shared on our website and social media channels. If you have questions about vaccines or want to get a vaccine, please visit Vaccines.gov to find the nearest vaccine provider in your area.

KEEP OUR FARM GREEN & CLEAN

The Boy and Girl Scouts are our designated green keepers! Help them by putting your trash, returnables, and recyclables in the proper bins located throughout the festival grounds. This may be your home for the weekend, but remember, we're borrowing it from the cows! We especially don't want our happy cows coming across a cigarette butt while they're munching away. Please help take care of our lovely land!

CALVES AT COWPIE

Coming to The Cowpie Music Festival with calves in tow? We're a family-friendly festival! Children 5 and under are admitted FREE when accompanied by a ticket-holding adult.

We allow 2 kids per ticketed adult! Just keep an eye on them and don’t let ’em wander too far as they must obey the festival rules too.

Check out our NEW Calves Tab!!!

PARKING

If you camp for the weekend, you can keep your car at your campsite! If you have more than one car, take the extras to the parking field. Please - no parties in the parking field, and take it nice and slow!

DOGS AND OTHER PETS

While we LOVE our canine friends, dogs and other pets are not allowed at the Cowpie Music Festival. Service animals are allowed with proper registration and documentation.

Scheduled festival events will proceed regardless of weather conditions. The Michigan Heritage Music Association or the Cowpie Music Festival shall issue no refunds on account of inclement weather.

Persons engaging in disorderly behavior, underage drinking, public intoxication, illegal drug use, stealing, or any other deviant behavior risk removal from the Cowpie Music Festival and possible arrest by appropriate law enforcement agencies. Security staff will enforce rules and regulations for the full duration of the festival.

SAFETY AND SECURITY

The Cowpie Music Festival makes every effort to create a safe environment. If you need assistance, seek out the merchandise/information tent, or look for a security officer or any festival staff member.

INJURY

One of the leading causes of injury while watching musicians play is doing stupid things while intoxicated. Typically, the best way to avoid injury at ANY concert is not to be intoxicated, AND to NOT do stupid things IF intoxicated. Feel free to utilize this policy at all concerts you may attend this year, including, but not exclusive to, The Cowpie Music Festival. Doing stupid things may result in ejection from the festival, or the need for medical attention.

HEAT/SUN EXPOSURE

It can actually get pretty hot in Michigan, especially in August on Shagbark Farm! Heatstroke or sunstroke can seriously affect your positive party quotient so drink plenty of water! There are pallets of water on hand; drink a lot of it - ALL DAY LONG!

Wear a good hat, use a high SPF sunscreen, and use the nearby shade trees and tents to limit your solar exposure. We do not want our festival-goers to look like human jerky - stay cool, hydrated, and happy!

SECURITY

The festival grounds and camping area is patrolled by event staff, as well as security and law enforcement, but The Cowpie Music Festival assumes no responsibility for the security of YOU or your private property. Please lock your camper or car and secure your valuables. Also, be sure to bring plenty of common sense to the festival, and use it frequently.

ACCESSIBLITY

The Cowpie Music Festival grounds at Shagbark Farm are wheelchair accessible, but please be aware that this is a large venue with hills and substantial distances between stages, bathrooms, and vendor areas. In addition, the music festival is situated on a working cattle farm; therefore, most travel is over uneven, natural terrain and if it should rain there will be mud in some areas. Please plan accordingly.

Two-wheeled scooters, golf carts, and other recreational vehicles are not permitted.

The Cowpie Music Festival does not provide personal care assistance, golf carts or rides, or a wheelchair push service. Please bring a ticket-holding attendant if assistance is required.

Pets are not allowed within The Cowpie Music Festival grounds. However, properly equipped (vested) service animals, which have been trained to provide assistance to an individual with a disability are always welcome. The owner of the animal may be asked to present the animal’s service ID, and to describe the type of service the animal provides.
